Q1. What happens if I do not pass and need to resubmit my assessment?
If you do not pass an assessment, your assessor will leave a comment as to why and what you need to resubmit. They are happy to discuss this with you if necessary.
Q2. How many attempts do I have?
You will be given THREE further opportunities to complete the assessment satisfactorily. If after your third attempt at the assessment, you are still unable to satisfactorily complete it, you may be required to redo the unit or pay for another assessment attempt. Student support will be able to discuss this with you.
What if I have to resubmit an assessment and it means that I go over the allocated 52 weeks?
If you have submitted the assessment before the 12 month deadline, then you do not need to apply for an extension. If your assessment is not satisfactory, you will have 6 weeks to resubmit.
Q4. What is the procedure if I do not agree with the outcome of an assessment?
If you do not agree with the outcome of an assessment decision, then you are entitled to request more information and if you still believe the decision is not correct/fair then you can email your concerns to the RTO Manager (jorge@iap.edu.au) who will instigate the assessment appeal process.
Q5. What happens if I need an extension on my assessments?
If for some reason, you are unable to submit your work with the 12 months allocated, you can apply for an extension. You can apply through your Student Portal. All applications will be assessed and decisions are final. Fees apply for extensions, and extensions cannot exceed 3 months.
