Melissa McKay

Melissa McKay is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with PACFA and holds a Master of Rehabilitation Counselling. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health sector and more than a decade working in the RTO (Registered Training Organisation) sector, Melissa is a skilled educator dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of counsellors and community services workers. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science and postgraduate qualifications in relationship and family counselling, rehabilitation counselling, and advanced counselling skills. Melissa specialises in supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating mental health challenges, trauma, domestic and family violence, and complex life transitions. Melissa is passionate about self-determination, cultural safety, and strengths-based care principles, which she weaves into both her therapeutic and teaching practices. As a trainer, Melissa is known for her warm, practical, and student-focused approach. She brings real-world experience into the classroom, helping learners bridge the gap between theory and practice with confidence. Melissa is committed to fostering an inclusive and reflective learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their skills, self-awareness, and professional identity.
