Treatment Approach
  • When it comes to what treatment to use, Amanda considers herself as an integrative therapist. Through a therapeutic partnership Amanda uses her assessment and observation skills to determine the right approach to use. Progress is evaluated and treatment plans modified as needed. Quite simply, Amanda helps individuals to become resourceful themselves. A variety of counselling skills, brain training, unconscious trance work, and lots of tasking become part of the plan. Some individuals are also there for skill building. Equipped with an extensive knowledge of skills, Amanda will use imagination, exposure, bilateral stimulation, writing, sand tray and more. Progress helps lead the way. All activities and methods used are suitable for all ages. Lots of psycho-education is used so that individuals understand why certain methods are used, and this also helps form the therapeutic relationship to creating the change that each individual is there to achieve. At the end of the day, individuals are looking for ways to feel better, and “do” better.
