Who Will You Be Today?
Take a moment to consider your breath right now.
That breath you’re taking in is the here and now. As you read this, that breath is your life and your past. Everything that’s happened before this moment exists nowhere except inside your head as a memory. Your future is yet to happen.
It only exists in your imagination. But, at this moment, you get to choose who you will be and how you will be in the world, and no one and nothing should be in control of that except you.
The past doesn’t matter now; most people determine who they will be based on who they have been.
Right here, right now, you get to decide how you’re going to operate in this world. You get to choose if you’re going to be your highest self. You’ve got to live with purpose, to be conscious of your decisions, your actions, and your inactions.
Consider this for a moment; you are so much more than you think you are; you can’t consciously comprehend all that you can be.
There was a time in your life when you couldn’t walk or talk or sip from a cup, and you learned how to do that. Then you moved on, and you got to a point where you couldn’t determine a B from a D, and you worked it out.
Tens of thousands of times in your life, you came up against what you didn’t understand, you didn’t know how to do, and you worked it out.
That’s why all that you do now, there was a time you did it for the first time; you had to learn it.
The child you were that couldn’t walk or talk, you couldn’t do any of those things. But you had the potential to do all of those things.
Well, here’s the news, you are not done yet. You’re good at things that haven’t yet been invented. If you decide that living is learning, then your own personal evolution never stops.
It only stops when you take your last breath.
No one is promised a tomorrow; you can’t put things off until tomorrow consistently. Because one day it won’t be there.
You have got to live your life.
In many ways, the great shame isn’t so much that people die; it’s a fact that they never truly lived.
So how do you start to live more consciously? Recognise all that you are. Recognise that what you do today, who you are, and how you are will determine a great deal of tomorrow.
Someone wise once said the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Only aspects of the future are unpredictable; the vast majority of it is actually very predictable because it is based on what you do.
The world doesn’t care what you think, but it does respond to what you do; it responds to action.
Today, who will you be? How will you be?
